Just Noodles

There is a small restaurant chain here called Just Noodles, but they serve more than just that. I've actually read a lot of reviews of it now and how it should be avoided because it's just generic Chinese food loaded with MSG and so on and so forth. Perhaps I'm not enough of a city slicker yet (because really, what city slicker would refer to themselves as such?) to know any better. Perhaps it's very dependent on the location. I thought it was far from the generic Chinese food I've come to know. Basically, I didn't get anything battered and deep fried with soy sauce.

I actually ordered pad Thai, which of course isn't Chinese at all, it's Thai. I've heard many people preach the wonders of this dish, but I'd never eaten it myself. I'm not sure what is supposed to distinguish it from any other noodle dish really, but I thought it was quite tasty. I ate it with plenty of hot sauce with the little rooster on the bottle. My resistance to spiciness is definitely welcome and I increasingly desire hot and spicy food as much as possible. It's likely going to be my new comfort food come winter.

The speed and service at the restaurant was excellent. Even though the place was packed I had a glass of water within 15 seconds of sitting down and my pad Thai arrived within 5 minutes of ordering it. Anywhere that Shannon and I can eat and be satisfied for less than between the two of us is definitely a place worth coming back to again.
