Lords of the Land

Our new landlords rock, if for no other reason than because they fed us tonight, though the husband did say his favorite Food Network show was License to Grill, which I cannot stand. They're a very nice young Anglo couple that are renting their basement to us. We were invited into the back yard for a barbecue and we spent the whole evening sitting by candlelight, eating, drinking and getting the opportunity to get to know them, not to mention talk to someone other than each other. Eventually they had to excuse themselves because they had to work in the morning. When we got back downstairs we realized that it was after midnight. Sorry! They also gave us a desk to use for the computer, which is much appreciated.

They made us Hamburgers (which we've already eaten - technically three times now…) but with avocado and roasted root vegetables, portobello mushrooms and peppers, so I'm going to count it as a different dinner. Next it will be our turn to have them down here for dinner. The wife is a vegetarian, so it will give me another opportunity to make some delicious veggie dishes.
