Old Bay Crab Cakes

1 cup bread crumbs
1 cup crab meat
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 teaspoon mustard seed
1/4 teaspoon dried chili flakes
1/4 teaspoon bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon scallions
- Combine sour cream, lemon juice and scallions and refrigerate while preparing crab cakes.
- Blend together spices and season bread crumbs.
- Stir together bread crumbs, crab meat and egg.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Form crumb mixture into patties and place about 4 into the skillet.
- Allow to brown on one side, about 5 minutes, then flip and fry for another 5 minutes.
- Repeat as necessary.
Makes 4 servings
