Beets and Onions

16 ounces canned beets, chopped
1/2 medium onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
salt and pepper
- Saute onion and garlic in vegetable oil over medium heat until tender.
- Drain beets and add to a sauce pan with lemon juice over medium heat.
- Add onions and garlic to beets and allow to simmer for at least 15 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
